Door Holders
What is a door holder?
We say Door Holders instead of volunteers because volunteers can sound like people who randomly sign up and hopefully show up, while Door Holders take ownership and take great pleasure in opening a way for others to see and experience Jesus. We first heard this term from the team at Passion City Church in Atlanta, and loved it so much, we adopted it as our own. Door Holders are the very heartbeat of our House here at Journey Havelock!
DOOR HOLDERS ARE PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN ON THE INSIDE AND EXPERIENCED JESUS AND ARE WILLING TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR OTHERS TO BE WELCOMED IN.
Journey KIDs
Care for children from birth through 2 years in the nursery. Lead our Kindergarten to 5th grade kids to Jesus through weekly teachings, music, large group games, and small group discussions. You can also serve on the Host Team for Passion Kids - this allows you the space to interact with the whole family and welcome them as they get settled into our space. Our Journey Kids environment allows for parents to be fully present in a gathering knowing their child is in a safe and loving environment.
students
Invest in the next generation with us as we meet for worship, teaching, games, and more. There is an additional application process for this team and may be sent along after your initial DH application is received.
media
Engage our house and the community with social media content, photography, web design, app support, communications and more. This is often the first experience future guests have with our house.
production
Responsible for lighting, audio, and video production for each gathering. We help to create a unique worship experience for guests, both in the room and those joining us online. *Previous production experience recommended.
worship band
Uses music to help create a worshipful environment where we can shift our focus to God and lift up the name of Jesus. There is an additional application process for this team and may be sent along after your initial DH application is received
guest services
Creating an excellent and welcoming experience as we host our guests, our Door Holders, and our Journey Havelock Team. Hospitality sets the table and serves many rooms of our House on Sundays and at various other family gatherings.
security
The physical, emotional, and spiritual safety of our guests is extremely important to us. Help provide a safe and distraction-free environment for all guests, Door Holders, and Team.
